From Kathryn Lloyd...

In May of 2008, I began this journey to increase my knowledge and skills as an artist. My travels started in a small town in western France, where I began to embrace a new approach to painting: one that focuses on light and the visual experience of both the artist and viewer.. .There were moments of intense frustration - will I EVER get this???? Was a question I asked daily and some days I asked it more than once.

Then there were the breakthroughs - small - almost imperceptible - until compared with earlier works.

November found me in the Bay area of San Francisco. That was hard. The untimely loss of my brother marked the beginning of that 3 month workshop. I did the best I could to maintain my focus upon the work, but I would lying if I said it was my best.

February I was off to Santa Fe. I think the greatest thing I learned is: it's okay to be where I am at in my development as an artist.
